Canine postural and bodywork
Service Description
Our dogs are constantly using their bodies alongside us, running, hiking, playing, walking, jumping, and staying active. Just like us, all of that activity can create muscular tension, compensation patterns, and areas of restriction throughout the body. Canine bodywork looks at the dog as a whole, with a focus on how the muscles, fascia, posture, and movement patterns work together. By paying attention to how a dog stands, moves, carries themselves, and responds to hands on work, I can better understand where the body may be holding tension or compensating. Every dog is different, and every session is adjusted to the individual. Their age, activity level, lifestyle, movement patterns, and responses during the session all help guide the work. A combination of hands on techniques and supportive modalities may be used to help reduce areas of tension, encourage relaxation, and support comfortable, balanced movement. My goal is to make each session a positive experience while helping your dog feel more comfortable in their body. Whether they are a sporting dog, a hiking buddy, an active family dog, or simply getting older, bodywork can be a helpful addition to their overall care and wellness.
